Majesteux Parquet was born from the demand for parquetry floors and their popular revival as a floor covering.
Due to production facilities in Australia diminishing, the team at Coffs Harbour Hardwoods thought it would be the perfect time to establish a parquet plant to the already established tongue and groove flooring production facility at Glenreagh, NSW.
Why? Our aim is to become one of the most diverse hardwood timber processing companies in Australia. We have many different machining facilities at our premises, and it seemed a logical idea to continue doing what we do best and utilising as much of our hardwoods as possible. This new addition to our range has several benefits both financially and sustainably. The fact that nearly all parquet is of a short length was ideal as it would aid in waste recovery. This helped us utilise our shorter length material which now has a better outcome for yielding quality hardwoods.
The timber goes through a few processes before it becomes your masterpiece. First, we source the best quality hardwoods. The timber is then cut, air seasoned, kiln dried and then dressed through our moulders to create individual pieces or squares. We then carefully select the best pieces to package up and send around the globe.
Our new plant will allow us to produce both block parquetry and mosaic parquetry. This will be available in standard sizes which you can find on our products page. Our team can also create bespoke parquetry as well. We love a challenge and we would love to help you.
We are creating a product that will look great in both residential and commercial spaces as has been proven for centuries. Once it’s installed, watch it come to life when the coating is applied, and the grain jumps out at you. Arrange to speak to our consultants regarding your next project. Remember, you’re limited only by your imagination.
We first thought of the idea of Majesteux Parquet during a meeting regarding the minimalization of our waste products, and how we could improve our yield and recover more of our quality hardwoods during the manufacturing process.
The Coffs Harbour Hardwoods company and the McCarthy family has been in business for well over 50 years now and have been involved in harvesting and processing timber for many generations previously, we aim to be around for many more generations to come by doing our part in creating a sustainable business.
We understand our obligations in being a responsible timber processing company as we know that if timber is being efficiently produced and the forests are being maintained with the correct silviculture practices, then the ecological lifecycle of timber will become beneficial to all.
When you consider your options in building products such as floor coverings, then you can’t go past our beautiful hardwood timber as a building material. That’s because timber has many benefits to the environment over other building products such as concrete, steel or plastics. Compared to our natural timber floors, especially our new Majesteux Parquet range, carpets or other fake floor coverings don’t even measure up.
Production and processing of timber uses much less energy – called embodied energy – than most other building materials, giving wood products a significantly lower carbon footprint. Wood can be used to substitute for materials that require larger amounts of fossil fuels to be produced. It is naturally grown and removes C02 from the atmosphere that growing trees have removed from the air. Timber then stores carbon; it is also a natural carbon store and up to 50% of its dry weight is carbon. There are many benefits of using responsibly sourced timber. Being a sustainable building product is just one of those.
You can make that choice.
